Chris McKee, Assoc. AIA
After graduating with a Bachelor of Architecture from Judson University, Chris decided to continue his architecture studies to learn more about sustainable design and urban planning, earning a Master of Architecture. His experience of urban design includes an analysis of historic buildings in Elgin, IL and a proposal for a revitalized city concept. Chris’ designs strive to not only be environmentally sensitive, but site and context-conscious as well, focusing on cultural values and the ideal of a community. Through his architectural investigations, multiple mission trips, and his involvement in Habitat for Humanity, Chris demonstrates his interest and concern for the built environment’s impact on the public and its ability to nurture community.
With DNA Workshop, Chris’s background will contribute to DNA’s focus on the community in which each project is located. His strong communication skills are apparent both verbally as well as through a thorough understanding of BIM technology which helps clients visualize their new structure both in detail and within its larger context. Chris is currently pursuing licensure and hopes to continue his exploration of architecture’s influence on one’s sense of place.
